In 1812, our congregation was formed, and worshipped in the homes of the members. In 1834 a building was built on our current site, constructed of lake stone. After the guns of the Civil War fell silent, a new foundation was laid on the same foundation as the first church. Even though additions and renovations hav been made throught the years, you can still see the old stone foundation in the basement.
Our rich history includes summer services held outside at the Gazebo, where it was customary for worshippers from surrounding towns and farms to arrange their horse-drawn wagons facing the outdoor pulpit. This tradition continues today, in the Summer months. As long as anyone can remember, it has only rained once during the outdoor service.
We offer a place of Worship and Fellowship to anyone who is interested in the United Methodist Church and it's Christian Teachings. We also invite all Christians to be part of our community.
